"All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man’s life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom. "
-Albert Einsten
Why STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)?
|
Creativity is critical to real learning and to real science, technology, engineering, and math applications. Yet, we are facing a creativity crisis in this country. Students are losing creativity over time in traditional classrooms. When we "add the A with integrity" to STEM classes, we promote creative thinking, giving students' creativity room to grow. STEAM also allows the teacher to see 3 dimensions of the student: We don't stop at the content. We ask students, "Now tell me something about yourself."
